SECONDARY
NEWS
Homework support has started once again in Secondary. May we remind
you of the following:
• If your child has missed 4 pieces of homework, you
will be informed of this by the tutor
• Once your child has missed 6 pieces of homework you will receive a
letter informing you that they are in homework support.
• They will be required to stay at school for 10 consecutive afternoons
until 4:00. School transport will be organised to bring them home
• Your child must not miss any of these 10 days or they will have to
go back to day one of the programme
• After 10 days, your child will be on a 10 day ‘probation’ period during
which time they must not miss any pieces of homework
PLEASE SUPPORT US IN OUT EFFORTS TO HELP YOUR CHILD BY NOT ASKING
THAT THEY BE EXCUSED FORM ANY OF THEIR DAYS OF HOMEWORK SUPPORT.
LOST PROPERTY
Please note that all unclaimed lost property is now
being donated to the Children’s Home in San Bartolo. We do have an inordinate
amount of unnamed and unclaimed items and would encourage Secondary
students to be more responsible with their things.
UNIVERSITIES FAYRE
In conjunction with the British Council, The Edron
will be playing host to 11 UK and 12 Mexican and 1 Canadian Universities
next Tuesday. As part of their Careers Education, students from years
11-13 will have the opportunity to talk with university representatives
throughout the day. We are pleased to announce that 5 of our neighbouring
schools have also been invited to participate in this event.
SECONDARY ACTIVITIES
Our Year 13 Theatre students enjoyed a very successful
and culturally stimulating trip to New York last month.
It is also a busy time culturally for Secondary students next week.
The French Film Festival is running throughout the city and our upper
school students will be attending several screenings throughout the
week. Added to this, students in years 10-13 are going to the performance
of African Footsteps at the Auditorio Nacional.
YEAR 10 IGCSE TALK
Any Year 10 parents who were unable to attend last
week’s talk on the IGCSE course, can download the booklet that was given
out from the school website.
CELL PHONES AND IPODS
Whilst cell phones and ipods may be brought into school
we would like to remind all students and parents that they should not
be used in lessons or between lessons. It is worth mentioning again
that cell phones and ipods which are confiscated from students will
be kept for 24 hours; if this happens on a Friday, they will be returned
on the following Monday.
To everyone who donated clothing for our collection. The clothes will
be delivered during the course of the next couple of weeks to the community
of San Bartolo. |
